Mary Qiu

Senior Manager, Data & Insights

Mary is a global health practitioner with 10+ years of experience working across research, program implementation/management, and strategy development.

Previously, Mary was based in Nairobi working with Evidence Action, where she was a global Program Manager for the Syphilis-Free Start program, supporting the implementation and scale-up in Zambia of a country-wide transition to the dual HIV/syphilis test during ANC. In addition, she led the strategy and development of new programming related to HPV vaccination and malaria in school-age children. She has also led the implementation of large scale research studies in humanitarian contexts in Western Tanzania, and a multi-country evaluation of PEPFAR policy on health service delivery. Mary is a firm believer in the importance of systems strengthening, but also working closely with teams to tackle and solve the day-to-day challenges that are faced in their unique contexts.

Currently, Mary is also a doctoral candidate at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, where she aims to study cancer care access in post-conflict Syria within dynamic geopolitical power borders. In her spare time, you can probably find Mary outside, whether it’s in a canoe, on a trail, or halfway up a cliff.
